4 Va., boaters found unharmed after night aground

CRISFIELD, MD – (AP) The Coast Guard says an adult and three teenagers were found unharmed after their boat ran aground in shallow water in the Pocomoke Sound.

The search for the four residents of Saxis, Va., began about 9:30 Saturday night, several hours after the boaters were overdue.

The Coast Guard says a helicopter crew spotted the 16-foot sailboat about 8 a.m. Sunday. Officials say winds from a storm Saturday had pushed the boat into the shallow area that was inaccessible to rescue boats.

The four were hoisted aboard the helicopter and were flown to Crisfield Airport, where they were checked by emergency medical personnel and released.

They were identified as 49-year-old Ivan Corcos, 16-year-old Luke Corcos, 15-year-old Hannah Corcos and 15-year-old Emily Kim.
