Body of missing Eastern Shore waterman found

BOZMAN, MD – (AP) Maryland Natural Resources Police say the body of an Eastern Shore waterman was found after the discovery of his empty boat prompted a daylong search.

Raymond Lee Gifford's empty skiff was spotted going in circles about 9:30 a.m. Monday in Harris Creek. The Bozman waterman's body was found about 5 p.m. Monday in the Talbot County waterway.

Maryland Natural Resources Police say Gifford's body was found with the use of sonar and a canine unit. Gifford's body was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore.
