Brief Synopsis:

In this program, we'll continue with Part 2 of my discussion with Jeanne du Nord, recorded on July 14, 2009. She's a locally based author, artist and playwright, who's written a book entitled "Makepeace: The Roots of American Liberty."

It's an historical narrative, set between the years 1659 and 1667, which chronicles the adventures and drama of the people who settled along the Annemessex and Manokin Rivers on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. And it also explores the prevailing attitude of religious tolerance that developed on the Shore, during that early colonial period.

Ms. Du Nord will also discuss a program in Princess Anne that she's helped to develop, which allows visitors to take an audio tour of the area - using their cellphones.

Later in this program, we'll discuss the incredible accomplishment of putting a man on the Moon, with writer Craig Nelson. He's the author of a book entitled "Rocket Men: The Epic Story of the First Men on the Moon." In our discussion, recorded on July 15, 2009, he will talk more about the history and incredible accomplishment of the Apollo 11 mission that put a man on the Moon - and how in the final minutes, it almost didn't happen.
