Ground broken for new Crisfield nursing home
CRISFIELD, MD – (AP) A new Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is being built in Crisfield.
Ground was broken Wednesday for the Alice B. Tawes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It will be at The McCready Foundation in Crisfield.
The current building has 69 residents, and the new $12 million building will have room for nearly twice that number. Officials say it will help meet the growing need for elder care.
Funding was provided by the federal, state and local governments and by private donations.
Construction is expected to be finished by early 2010.
