Ocean City, Md., finishing up beach survey

OCEAN CITY, Md. – (AP) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is finishing a survey of Ocean City's beaches to determine how much damage last week's powerful nor'easter did.

City engineer Terry McGean says a three-person team is expected to finish its work Wednesday. He said he would likely know Monday how much sand the beach had lost as a result of the recent storm.

The city already had a dredging project planned for 2010, McGean said. That will be moved up to replenish the beaches with sand.
