Orioles' Cabrera, Yankees' Ramirez suspended

NEW YORK, NY – (AP) Baltimore's Daniel Cabrera and New York's Edwar Ramirez have been suspended and fined for intentionally throwing at batters.

Cabrera was suspended six games and fined an undisclosed amount for throwing a pitch at Alex Rodriguez's head in the bottom of the eighth inning on Tuesday night.

Ramirez, a reliever, was suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount for throwing at Kevin Millar's head during the top of the seventh inning on Wednesday.

Both pitchers were ejected from the games.

Ramirez has appealed the league's decision. Cabrera hasn't yet, and if he doesn't, his suspension will begin Friday night against the Seattle Mariners.
