SALISBURY, Md (AP) – The heavy rain in Salisbury on Saturday is being blamed for the spill of more than 400,000 gallons of sewage into the Wicomico River.
Public works crews received an overflow alarm late Saturday afternoon. A few hundred gallons spilled from a manhole cover on Ridge Road before the sewage was diverted to the rever.
Officials say it's one of the city's largest spills in recent years.
