Brief Synopsis:
Constructed in 1968 and expanded in 1991, the Frederick Douglass Library lies at the heart of the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).
As the campus' central repository of both print and non-print resources, the three-story Douglass Library houses over 200,000 volumes spread across 61,000 square feet of space - and numerous electronic databases. It also has access to the shared resources of 13 campuses and 17 other libraries across the University System of Maryland.
Here to tell us more is Ms. Sheila Bailey, the Douglass Library's Interim Dean, in this interview originally recorded on July 20, 2010. She will tell us more about the many vital services that the library provides both students and faculty on-campus. Ms. Bailey will also share her goals for advancing the mission of the library in both technological and global terms.
