Brief Synopsis:

In this program, we'll learn about the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Part of the UMES School of Business and Technology, the HRM degree program is housed in the state-of-the-art Richard A. Henson Conference Center, which features hotel guest rooms, banquet service and production facilities as well as specialized laboratories, classrooms, and faculty offices.

Concentrations are available in Culinary Arts Restaurant Management, Food & Beverage Management, Hotel Administration and Travel/Tourism. And the recently accredited Professional Golf Management program is also administratively housed within the HRM department.

To learn more, we invited Dr. Ernest P. Boger, the department's chairman, to come down to our studios and talk about the HRM Department, in this interview recorded in July of 2010. Dr. Boger highlights some of the many business and managerial career opportunities available in the hospitality industry for UMES students who obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.
