Brief Synopsis:

Home to the UMES Hawks, alternatively known as the "Fighting Hawks" or the "Maroon and Grey," the Department of Athletics at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore offers a wide variety of programs, ranging from basketball to baseball, track, tennis and volleyball. UMES is also known for its Division I women's bowling team - which won the NCAA National Championship in 2008.

Keith Davidson, Director of Athletics, will talk more about the UMES Athletics Department, in an interview recorded on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. He'll discuss some of the highlights and accomplishments of the University's men's and women's sports teams - as well as the emphasis on academic achievement that the University stresses for all of its student athletes.

Another individual we'll hear from later in the show, is Stan Bradley. Stan was named as Sports Information Director (SID) for the Hawks' athletic staff in July of 2001.

As the current head of the Office of Media Relations for the Athletics Department, he's been working hard to raise the profile and attention of the Athletics program here at UMES is Mr. Stan Bradley. Stan has also brought many new and creative ideas to UMES to further enhance its marketing and visibility throughout the community.
