Woman indicted in infant's death
EASTON, Md. – (AP) A Trappe woman has been indicted on a second-degree murder charge in the death of an infant who was in her care.
Fifty-two-year-old Gail Dobson was indicted on Tuesday. She was arrested last month in the death of 9-month-old Trevor Ulrich, who died Sept. 3.
Police say Dobson, who obtained a day care license in 1986, had cared for the infant on two days.
The District of Columbia Medical Examiner's office said Ulrich died from inflicted head trauma, which is consistent with Shaken Baby Syndrome. Paramedics found the child in cardiac arrest at Dobson's day-care center on Sept. 2. The boy died the next day at Children's Hospital in Washington.
