Thompson hosts the sixth annual President's Interfaith Prayer Breakfast on Friday, February 13, at 7:30 a.m. in the Student Services Center ballroom. The Rev. Dr. Marc Farmer of the Oakland Mills Church of God in Columbia, Md., is the keynote speaker.

DURHAM, NC – (AP) Neal Pitt scored 24 points to lead the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) to a 73-58 win over North Carolina Central on Wednesday night.

The Hawks (4-11) snapped a two-game losing streak with the nonconference victory. The Eagles (2-20) have now lost two in a row after winning two consecutive games for their only victories of the season.

The Eagles outrebounded UMES 36-35, but committed 20 turnovers to the Hawks' 12.

PRINCESS ANNE, MD – Neal Pitt scored 17 points and the University Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) beat South Carolina State 66-63 for its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win of the season on Monday night.

The Hawks (3-9, 2-1) went to a zone defense early in the second half against a Bulldogs team who shot 12 of 32 from the field after the break and 21-for-54 in the game.

UMES won back-to-back games for the first time since defeating Hampton and Howard on Feb. 2 and 4 of the 2007-2008 season.

Homeowners who are facing foreclosure, worried about an increased interest rate or have other concerns with their mortgage can receive free one-on-one legal advice at a foreclosure solutions workshop on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Richard A. Henson Center on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
