Paul Henderson Goes to City Hall: Maryland Historical Society to open exhibit at City Hall on June 5

BALTIMORE - The Maryland Historical Society (MdHS) is happy to announce the first stop on its new traveling exhibit, Paul Henderson: Maryland's Civil Rights Era in Photographs, ca. 1940-1960. The 46-piece photo print exhibit opens on June 5 in the rotunda at Baltimore City Hall (100 N Holliday St., Baltimore, MD 21202). The traveling exhibit is nearly twice as large as the show currently on display at MdHS and is free and open to the public. Viewing times at City Hall are Monday - Fridays, 9am to 5pm. Photo ID is required for entry into City Hall.

Maryland House & Garden Tour in Somerset/Worcester offer inside look at extraordinary historic site

The Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage Somerset/Worcester Counties tour is Saturday, May 4th.The Littleton and Ann Long House in Princess Anne one of the eight grand old homes and gardens on the tour. It was built in 1830.

BALTIMORE, Md. – The only multi county tour on the statewide Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage (MHGP) of historic homes and gardens takes place in Somerset and Worcester Counties on Saturday, May 4th.  There are eight properties on display. Profits from this tour go to The Lower Eastern Shore Heritage Council. One of the highlights of the tour is the Princess Anne property known as Hollyhurst, with its Flemish-bond brick work. The Federal-style house was lovingly revived in the early 1980s with the introduction of raised-panel woodwork.

'Lincoln' costumes to be exhibited in Petersburg

PETERSURG, Va. (AP) — Petersburg is hosting the debut of a nationwide exhibit of costumes from the movie "Lincoln."

The city says "Lincoln" wardrobe designer Joanna Johnston will return to Petersburg for the exhibit's opening on Saturday at the Centre Hill Museum.

President Abraham Lincoln visited the Centre Hill mansion in 1865.

Petersburg cultural affairs manager Kevin Kirby says in a news release that Johnson's visit is part of a weekend of "Lincoln"-related activities and tours.

"Lincoln" was filmed in the Petersburg and Richmond areas.
