18-Year-Old Junior Perez Saavedra Missing After Leaving Reseda School

An 18-year-old with autism has been missing since Friday, Oct. 16, after leaving a special-needs school in Reseda, California, according to his mother, who spoke with KTLA.

Junior Perez Saavedra was last seen Friday morning at the Diane S. Leichman Career Preparatory and Transition Center in the San Fernando Valley. His family is concerned about his safety and is asking for information that could help locate him.

His mother, Maria Saavedra, said her son requires assistance with daily activities and cannot safely care for himself. She also said he does not know how to find his way home, raising concerns about his ability to navigate unfamiliar surroundings alone.

“I’ve asked the police to issue an alert, but they tell me there’s a specific protocol to follow,” Maria Saavedra told KTLA.

Maria Saavedra said she had not received an update from police since Friday. The lack of information has added to her concern as the search for her son continues.
