BALTIMORE — Family, friends and community members gathered Saturday to remember 12-year-old Khloe Ishway, who was killed in a shooting during a youth football game at Leon Day Park in West Baltimore three weeks earlier. Outside her funeral, mourners shared memories of Khloe and called for an end to gun violence that continues to affect children and families.
“Stop the violence. Protect the youth,” one man said outside the service.
Anthony, who described Khloe as being like a younger sister to him, attended the funeral to pay his respects.
“She was like my little sister,” he said. “That’s why I’m here today, to see her. We’re gonna miss her.”
Others remembered Khloe as a child who brought positivity and energy to the people around her. Delante Todd described her as a good kid whose presence would be deeply missed.
“She always was a good kid. She always had positive energy, and I just miss her so bad,” Todd said.
Khloe Ishway Was Killed During a Youth Football Game

Khloe was killed on October 3 after gunfire erupted during a youth football game at Leon Day Park in West Baltimore. According to police, a dispute over a parking spot escalated into an exchange of gunfire, leaving Khloe caught in the crossfire. She later died from her injuries.
Other people were also injured in the shooting.
Authorities have arrested 23-year-old Tyree Reynolds and charged him in connection with Khloe’s killing. Baltimore police have said investigators are continuing to search for a second alleged gunman believed to have been involved in the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to locate the second suspect.
Family Members Remember a Beloved Child
Khloe’s uncle, Robert, told FOX45 News that she was surrounded by a loving and caring family.
“She definitely was loved. She came from a caring, loving family,” he said.
Robert also spoke about the absence of Khloe’s father, who is incarcerated and was unable to attend his daughter’s funeral.
“He deserved to be here to say goodbye to his daughter,” Robert said.
For the family, the service was an opportunity to honor Khloe’s life and remember the child whose death has left loved ones grieving.
Community Calls for Change After Khloe’s Death
Outside the funeral, community members said Khloe’s killing was another painful reminder of the impact gun violence has on children and families in Baltimore.
Webbie Edwards expressed support for Khloe’s family and urged people to put down their guns.
“I just want to give love and pray for the family and, I mean, put the guns down,” Edwards said.
Ron Hundley said he was tired of seeing children lose their lives to violence and called for action to prevent further tragedies.
“Something has to be done,” Hundley said. “I don’t know what the question is, I don’t know what answer is, but I know something has to be done. Because we’re getting tired of losing our babies now.”
Hundley added that addressing violence would require cooperation throughout the city, emphasizing the need for people to work together.
“We all got to come together, all of us,” he said.
As Khloe’s family and friends mourn her death, community members are continuing to call for greater efforts to protect children from gun violence.
Baltimore police are still investigating the shooting and searching for the second alleged gunman. Reynolds has been charged in connection with Khloe’s killing, while the investigation continues.
